Defying Gravity: Antares Spaceship

Here's a quick video I threw together from my work at Stargate digital. I designed most of the medium scale elements of the ship, and was responsible for the principal modeling of Antares. Special consideration was taken with moving parts, scale, and overall believability of the design. Other members of the team consisting of Mike Yip, Jess Brown, Gavin Jung, Henry Peng, Brent Boulet, and Mike Lemon were tasked with creating the textures, shaders, and effects. The ship is a half mile in total length, and no detail was overlooked.

We all worked closely with the Executive Producer Michael Edelstein, and the Production designer, Stephen Geaghan to come up with design ideas and adhere to the overall vision of the production. It was quite a fun project to work on, and although Defying Gravity was canceled after only 13 episodes, it was nominated for a VES award for "Outstanding Visual Effects in a Broadcast Series" in 2010.

Crysis of Faith Demo Video

I have experience with Sandbox 2 , and this is a quick demo to show off some of my modeling and texturing skills inside a game engine. In this demo I created all the static models, textures, and lighting. I staged the NPC battles using the flowgraph editor, and animated the cameras with the trackview editor. I also wrote my own config files to capture the videos. Sandbox 2 has an incredibly powerful rendering capability, and it's fun to make videos with!
